Lookin Centre College educates a variety of young people with a myriad of needs and abilities. The college provides an experience that is student centred, challenging, demanding, multifaceted, and oriented towards building self-esteem and self-confidence.
When a student develops a new skill or improves an existing skill, that process builds selfesteem. When a student learns new principles and is able to develop a broader and deeper understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them, the result is increased self-esteem and self-confidence. When a class project is seen through to completion, particularly when obstacles are treated as challenges rather than as roadblocks or points of avoidance, self-esteem and self-confidence are built.
